Not every transaction in e-commerce starts with an impulse click on an "Add to Cart" button. If you are selling corporate uniform batches, customized leather gifts for a bank, or supplying 50 workstations with software licenses, the buying process is fundamentally different.

Wholesale clients, institutions, and enterprise buyers don't pull out a personal debit card. They require formal proposals, itemized tax breakdowns, delivery timelines, and internal approval signatures before an invoice is ever cut.

Until now, store owners handled this by opening Microsoft Word, typing a quotation manually, converting to PDF, emailing it, and hoping the deal wouldn't get lost in their inbox. This week, we built a complete Pre-Sales Quotation and CRM pipeline right into the heart of Manmerce.

1. The Pre-Sales Quotation Engine

The QuotationService bridges the gap between sales proposals and formal e-commerce orders:

  • Standardized Sequence: Quotations receive sequential enterprise codes: QT-YYYY-XXXX.
  • Dynamic Line-Item Composer: Sales reps can pull live catalog products (with real-time stock and SKU data) or input bespoke non-catalog custom items with special agreed-upon rates.
  • Printable Proposal Layout: A dedicated, print-ready voucher (/admin/quotations/{id}/print) with company logo, terms and conditions, validity windows, and authorization signature blocks.
  • Customer Account Portal: Buyers log into /account/quotations to review active quotes, inspect line items, and click Accept or Decline with feedback.
  • 1-Click Conversion to Order: When accepted, Manmerce automatically provisions an official Order, transfers item lines, locks negotiated rates, and initiates the fulfillment cycle.
// Converting an Approved Quotation into a Formal Store Order
$order = $quotationService->convertToOrder($quotation);
// Order #1042 generated with linked quotation_id and locked pricing

2. The Enterprise CRM Lead Pipeline

When high-ticket prospects contact your store, who follows up? When does the quote expire? What was discussed during the last phone call?

We built an interactive, visual CRM Kanban board directly into /admin/crm/dashboard:

  • 6 Deal Stages: New ➔ Contacted ➔ Qualified ➔ Proposal ➔ Won ➔ Lost with real-time stage counts and aggregate deal value calculations.
  • 360° Lead Profile: Captures contact details, organization, estimated deal value, and target close dates. Includes a chronological interaction log of notes, phone calls, meetings, and automated status shifts.
  • Follow-Up Task Manager: Quick task composer (/admin/crm/tasks) assigning follow-up calls or reminders to specific staff members with priority badges and due dates.
  • UTM Attribution Capture: Our CaptureUrlCouponAndReferral middleware automatically tracks utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign from incoming ad traffic and permanently links acquisition sources to the lead.

Next week: managing the team on the ground—Field Sales Representatives (SRs), route visits, and real-time sales quota leaderboards.
